This day will be a creative time-out, something special for the heart and soul.
The circle is something fascinating. The circle can be interpreted in many ways and is constantly changing. As we delve deeper into the subject, we will see how inexhaustible the possibilities are. The circle stands there in all its purity. A bristly brush penetrates it with ink, provoking a transformation. An impulsive escape from the circle, the writing swirls through the air. Different emotions come up, calm, impetuous, wild. Emotions are the driving force behind the expression.
Compositions with a modern calligraphic font that swirls in the wind of the circle. Or with a historical font that creates calm, e.g. with the uncial. And it is precisely such changes that are at issue, whether through different devices, materials or collage elements. An interplay of circular interpretations combined with calligraphy. Intuitive designs, experiencing the artistic freedom in which one’s own individuality becomes visible. I will give dedicated support to all participants according to their needs, whether in practicing modern calligraphic writing or the uncial, or in refreshing a font of their choice. Material list:
If you have already had courses, take the usual writing tools and various brushes you have, flat brushes, swirly brushes, my brushes are available for beginners. Also, your inks black, other colors optional
Pencil (HB) Rubber/ ruler
For drafts and exercises printer paper from Migros, the Papeteria 120mg brand, no lighter paper, they are not suitable for ink
Other papers: A few sheets of black paper (clay paper, A4 or A3), and lightly grained paper at least 200g
Thin papers for collages e.g. from newspapers, I prepare glue
Small water container, pipette
At least 3 small containers (shallow cups)
Brushes (for mixing paint)
If you have paints such as gouache, watercolor, acrylic, take about 3 colors with you, otherwise I have enough material with me and will be happy to provide
Kitchen paper
Your own lunch and a drink/ something to nibble on in between if you wish
