The digital world is incredible, and we depend on it, but much is also lost in the process. I am thinking of handwriting, and in this case, of calligraphy. This wonderful art creates inner peace without allowing distracting thoughts. The nib with ink glides slowly across the paper, leaving alternating fine and bold lines. A connection between heart and hand emerges. The writer\u2019s emotions are reflected and allow for individual expression. Immerse yourself in the world of calligraphy. M\u00fcnchenstein: Wednesday, 7:30 PM \u2013 9:30 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Traditional calligraphy:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Beginners: Anglaise, Antiqua<\/p>\n

Humanistic Cursive, Merian Fraktur, Lombardic Capitals, Spencerian, Copperplate, Uncial. For all script styles, students first learn the alphabet, followed by more in-depth study of details and refinements, working with gouache and design projects. Development of individual creative ideas is encouraged.<\/p>\n

Experimental calligraphy for advanced participants:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Colored backgrounds, creating layered backgrounds using selected materials, getting to know and experimenting with different writing tools, and working on a variety of surfaces.<\/p>\n

Collage with Antiqua lettering<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Application of various techniques and materials, collages incorporating calligraphic elements, creating your own lettering styles, modern calligraphy, expressive gestural writing, and themed projects. The possibilities are virtually endless.<\/p>\n

You may join a course at any time, provided that a place is available in the desired course.<\/p>\n

For beginners and advanced students. Beginners start with the cursive script Anglaise; those who already have prior knowledge will, in consultation with me, learn a new script from traditional calligraphy. All participants receive my personal and individual support.<\/p>\n

Semester course<\/strong> with 10 lessons: CHF 450.00 (plus materials for beginners CHF<\/p>\n

14.00.-) with 10 lessons: CHF 450.00 (plus materials for beginners CHF 14.00). Anyone joining the semester course partway through pays the higher rate of CHF 50.00 per lesson.<\/p>\n

Quarterly course<\/strong>:5 lessons CHF 265 incl. materials for beginners; continuing 5-lesson package without materials CHF 250.<\/p>\n

I come to Hanna\u2019s course directly from work. Her course helps me wind down after a tiring day. After the course, I feel completely refreshed and relaxed.<\/p>\n

I appreciate the calm atmosphere. Traditional calligraphy must be executed slowly and with concentration, which was an adjustment for me at first. Now I actually enjoy this slowness.<\/p>\n

Focused work means switching off. I take joy in my own progress. I am impressed by the beauty of this art.<\/p>\n

I have been attending Hanna\u2019s calligraphy course for a year. There I have found a new hobby. I can immerse myself in calligraphy for hours, relax and regenerate\u2014it is pure joy. I am fascinated by Hanna\u2019s free designs, which radiate such lightness; I would love to learn how to create them.<\/p>\n

I am grateful for the regular course I attend, where I receive Hanna\u2019s support and suggestions, which encourage me. Sometimes a single piece of advice from her is enough to resolve my block. The exchange with the group is also stimulating and inspiring.<\/p>\n

Joint exhibition with my course participants<\/strong><\/p>\n

A special experience was had by my long-standing course participants who took part in our group exhibition in 2013 at the Galerie Artworks in Liestal. The joint and individual preparations showed them what it takes to organize an exhibition. They greatly enjoyed presenting their works to the public for the first time. The local broadcaster Telebasel reported on the highlights of the opening event.<\/p>\n

Weekend courses at Mariastein Monastery, Solothurn<\/strong><\/p>\n

For many years, I held three weekend courses each year at Mariastein Monastery. In the silence of this wonderful place of power, we found the peace we needed to devote ourselves intensively to calligraphy.<\/p>\n

After all those years at Mariastein Monastery, I held a few weekend courses at the\u00a0Kloster Engelberg<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>through and in\u00a0Hotel Paxmontana in Fl\u00fceli-Ranft<\/strong><\/p>\n

Workshop in Budapest<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budapest is one of my favorite cities, where my roots are. It was a particular pleasure for me to offer the six-day calligraphy workshop as an art and cultural program. With my insider knowledge, I introduced participants from Switzerland and Germany to the mentality, culture, and beauty of Budapest. Our studio was located directly on the banks of the Danube, with a view of the castle\u2014what more could one ask for?<\/p>\n
